Welcome to RNS NeuroCamp!
RNS NeuroCamp has three main goals: educating, mentoring, and researching. To achieve our goal of educating our participants, the camp will engage students in introductory neuroscience topics like neurons and neurotransmission, neurological diseases, and neuroanatomy through interactive lectures, discussions, and hands-on bench science. To mentor students, we will provide opportunities to learn skills in STEM as well as general professional skills with representatives from Rice’s Center for Career Development. We will also have opportunities to speak with students about how to get into a reputable undergraduate program to pursue their academic dreams. Finally, we plan to teach participants basic lab skills through independent experiments. We hope that through these three goals, the students will acquire a life-long love for science and neuroscience.
This year (2024), NeuroCamp is will be held both in-person (Aug 3-4) and online (July 13th and July 14th)! In-person NeuroCamp is limited to greater Houston area students, but ANYONE can apply for our Zoom version!
